Sweet and Smokey Bacon Wrapped Scallops
For our very first day of our 12 Days to Unconventional Christmas countdown we are going to make Bacon Wrapped Scallops! As always you can find both amazing scallops and bacon on our store, pair that with free delivery and you are going to be all set to celebrate!
Let’s begin by talking about how easy this recipe truly is. Many people are afraid to cook with scallops because they are generally pretty expensive but we don’t have to be.
Let us start by looking at what we need:
- 10/20 sized Sea Scallops (Available Here!)
- Thin Sliced Bacon (Available Here!)
- ¼ cup of Maple syrup
- 2 tbsp of any BBQ sauce
- ½ tsp of Salt and Pepper
- ½ tsp of Garlic Powder
Now to make it.
Start by letting your frozen scallops thaw completely and pat them dry with a paper towel.
Then, take each scallop and wrap a piece of bacon around the outside of it. To keep the bacon in place, use a toothpick to piece all the way through the scallop in order to hold the bacon onto it during cooking.
Now, take out a bowl and combine your maple syrup, BBQ sauce, salt, pepper and garlic powder. This is going to be your glaze that gets brushed on. Brush some of this glaze on before cooking while on the pan.
Next up, you’ll want to set your oven to broil and broil these little guys for about 15 - 17 minutes, this gives the bacon enough time to crisp up and cook your scallops all the way through. Half way through the cook time, renew your glaze and finish off your cooking time.
These amazing Scallops are the perfect Holiday treat this year! Don’t let this unconventional year bring you down, we just need to find new things to embrace and one amazing way to do that is to experiment with new holiday meals! Maybe 2020 does not have to be so bad and we can use it to create new traditions!
