Welcome to the first day of our Week of Comfort event! Today we are looking into how to make a Rib Sandwich. Now everyone knows that the McRib has popularized rib sandwiches as an amazing alternative to Hamburgers. This recipe is going to look at how to make a rib sandwich completely from scratch using the Ribs found right here on our store! Don’t forget that as long as we are in lockdown and are in a Covid-19 red zone, Bonaventure is offering free local delivery!

Now, let’s talk about some the intricate details about how to make a rib sandwich by starting off by looking at what you’ll need:

  • 1 Rack of Ribs (Available Here!)
  • Your choice of sweet and smoky BBQ Sauce
  • Sliced Onion (Dicing them will work too if you prefer your onion to be less noticeable)
  • Sandwich Pickles
  • Long Sandwich Bun (Also sometimes called Sausage Buns)

Let’s begin by talking about the best way to get your ribs nice and tender. First, always begin by peeling off the bottom membrane from your rack of ribs. This can be done by simply slicing through the membrane very lightly and it should simply peel off by pulling on it. Don’t worry if you do not manage to get every single inch of the membrane off.

Next up we are going to preheat your oven to 250ºF and you are going to want to season your ribs with some just a little Salt and Pepper. Once you have seasoned them, you are going to place your ribs in a pouch made of Aluminum Foil, place them on a baking tray and you are going to bake them for roughly 3 hours. Once your 3 hours has ended you are going to put them back in for another 2 hours but first you must remove them from their pouch. Within the last hour of baking, you can apply a layer of your favorite Barbecue Sauce and apply a second layer just before they are ready to come out.

Once you allow for your ribs to cool a little, you can now cut them into sections of 4 and you can remove the bones. The bones should come out relatively easy but if they have a little bit of resistance to them do not panic, just use your knife to cut them out a little bit and remember that your rib sandwich will still taste amazing even if your ribs are more in the fall off the bone category.

Once this is done, you can simply add more of your favorite BBQ Sauce. Then add your pickles and your Onions and you are set to have your amazing rib sandwich made entirely from scratch.

As always, feel free to let us know if you enjoyed this recipe and let us know some of the things you’ve been doing to bring a sense of comfort to your home.
