On Day 4 of our 12 day to Unconventional Christmas countdown, we are going to be making a delicious rib recipe that emphasizes the sweetness of the holiday season but adds a little boost of heat to keep you warm since it is so, so cold. Let us begin with what you will need!
- A Box of Bonaventure’s amazing Pork Back Ribs (Available here!)
- ¼ cup of dry Mustard
- 2 tsp. ground black pepper
- ¼ cup of Honey
- ¼ cup of your choice in Chipotle Barbecue Sauce. (If you have to use just straight chipotle sauce, increase your Honey to ½ a cup and use only about 2 tablespoons of chipotle sauce.
To begin, we must start by taking off the bottom membrane from the racks of ribs. To do this simply use a knife to cut into the membrane and it should peel off relatively easy. This allows for your ribs to quite literally fall off the bone.
Next up, combine your dry seasonings with your honey and chipotle, mix it very thoroughly in a bowl and glaze your ribs evenly top and bottom. Then, using aluminium foil, place your ribs into individual little pouches. Bake these ribs at 225° for 5 hours, continuing to glaze every hour or so.
Finally, Open your pouches and set your oven to Broil for about 10 or so minutes in order to get that signature rib colour and add some smokeyness to the mix! Let these sit once done for about 5 minutes and then enjoy your holiday feast!
Let us know how you enjoyed these amazing ribs and of course, let us know if you made any changes to this recipe so we can try it out as well! Happy Holidays everyone!
