Having fun with Christmas Breakfast!
Welcome to the second to last day of our 12 day countdown to an unconventional Christmas! Now, just as a reminder to everyone, tomorrow is not only the final post of our countdown event but it is also Christmas eve so make sure that you have everything you need because the big day is almost here! With that little reminder out of the way, let’s get to our recipe of the day, shall we?
Today we are going to be focusing on breakfast once again because there are so many different ways to spice things up for breakfast so we’re going to look at a few different possibilities!
First up, let’s talk about Bacon Pancakes. To start off let’s make a regular pancake mix
- 1 ½ cups of flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon of salt
- 1 ½ cups of milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons of oil (vegetable or canola both work perfectly)
- You can always add a little bit of sugar if you’d like but keep it to about 1-2 tablespoons.
Now, some ways that you can spice up your pancakes include, dicing up about half a package of Bacon and then cooking these little Bacon bits. Once these cool off and you’ve let a paper towel soak up some of the grease, you can add these little bits directly into your pancake batter. (Bacon is available right Here!)
Next up, we are going to make a breakfast wrap because though in my family Christmas is about relaxing and enjoying time with family, this year has called for some special circumstances meaning that you may be on the go to drop off and pick up gifts that people leave outside for you to take and that you leave as well. So let’s look at some possibilities!
First, you can always make a wrap by using:
- Tortilla bread
- A fried egg or omelet style egg
- Bacon slices (Available Here!)
- A Hash Brown
- Sausage (Available Here!)
- Smoked Meat that has been quickly fried in a pan (Smoked Meat is Available Here!)
- A piece of that Bacon pancake from earlier
- You can even find yourself a crêpe recipe and use that rather than a tortilla.
There are all kinds of possibilities around the holidays and though this year may be a little different or unconventional if you will, that does not mean that we can not still be creative and have a little fun, especially when it comes to what we are eating this year.
