Bonaventure Smoked Meat Roll-Up
These smoked meat roll-ups are always a go-to. They are super easy to prepare and are customizable a zillion ways. Let us know how you enjoy yours.
Bonaventure's Smoke Meat Roll-Ups
pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1 tbsp caraway seeds
smoked meat slices (we used two packages of Smokey Red slices)
Swiss cheese - we had grated cheese on hand, but slices would work just as well
onion - sliced in rings
Hot Sauce of choice
1 - Preheat your oven to 375C.
2 - Roll out the pizza dough to an approx 15" x 9" rectangle.
3 - Sprinkle caraway seeds over the dough and press them down.
4 - Layer your smoked meat slices over the dough, ensuring that you leave a 1/2" border around the perimeter
5 - Top with sliced onions, followed by swiss cheese, and hot sauce if using.
6 - Roll up dough width-wise - jellyroll style - as tightly as you can.
7 - Slice off extra dough at ends and discard.
8 - Carefully slice in 1/2" to 1" sections and place on sides on a baking sheet.
8 - Bake for 20 min covered with foil (or as per package directions). Remove foil and bake for 20 more min until evenly browned.
You are ready to go. These delicious roll-ups can be enjoyed either warm or cold. Wrap in either parchment or wax paper for on the go.
